Sleek has been on my avoid list for going on a year now, due to the massive screw-up that was their “customer appreciation sale” last year. Since then they have had various continuing issues, of course, and I’m not convinced that they fixed everything with that sale.
Apparently they just can’t help being so crappy.
Last night, KittenMittens over at Painted posted a doozy of a screw-up: to make a long story short, Sleek added the postage charge to the declared customs value on her purchase (which is a no-no, because postage is not part of the item value), causing the import tax to be falsely jacked up and more than doubling the cost of the two palettes she purchased. Then Sleek didn’t even package them sufficiently for overseas mailing in the first place so that they were damaged in transit, one of the eyeshadows being completely crushed. Now they won’t answer her emails.
So far it’s looking like going through Sleek’s facebook page is the next step, but anyone who watched last year’s sale outcome knows that Sleek has no problem deleting and ignoring any complaints.

Ugh. When I was living the UK Sleek was about all that I bought that wasn’t Superdrug or Boot’s home brand. And now I feel bad for supporting them.
Because I never knew that their CS sucks so much. It’s turned me off of really even thinking about buying the palettes off Ebay.

They are such a half-arsed company. I got caught in the sale debacle, though in my case after a long saga it worked out in my favour because even though I eventually tried to cancel the order after getting sick of not being responded to, they still sent it to me and never charged my card – and ignored an email I sent telling them they hadn’t billed me. Idiots!

It even bugs me they made their page so you have to comment on their posts instead of posting your own thing, like say, MY DAMN COMPLAINT! hahaha but yeah I guess I can see why they’d do that, (angry people overload) but maybe angry people like me wouldn’t have to make angry complaints if they just had some form customer service! Looking like ebay will be my friend from now on.
